About Us

The purpose of the Catatoga III Natural Habitat & Wetlands, Inc. (Catatoga III NHW) is to preserve, protect, and maintain Fitchie Creek and the protected wetlands and flood plain contained within it for the Open Space Parcels identified as lots 105, 106, and 107 of the Catatoga III Plat of Subdivision. Referred to as “the Greenbelt”, this responsibility is assigned to Catatoga III homeowners who are Members of the Catatoga III NHW by deeded covenant.  We undertake this task with a commitment to transparency, encouraging community involvement, and by complying with all local, state, and federal regulations that apply to the floodway and wetlands.

  • The Catatoga III NHW has an elected Board of Directors consisting of current Members
  • The board holds a scheduled monthly meeting from February through October with a winter recess November through January. See our schedule.
  • Based upon feedback from our members, our monthly meetings are currently held virtually via ZOOM

Please note we are not a traditional "homeowners association" and only have oversight of our three open space parcels in the Greenbelt. Inquiries related to installing fences, filing disputes, remodeling, and so on should be directed to Kane County directly.

COMMUNITY

Our focus will be on stewardship through involved volunteerism and partnership between obligated and non-obligated members of the broader Catatoga community.
